Weekend Shots (Saturday)

I have alot of stuff to do this weekend but I wanted to show some simple shots from what I did today.

I downloaded this new app called Sketchbook Mobile that lets you draw on your pictures. Beautiful Mess did a post about that. I actually started trying to make a friendship bracelet using embroidery thread and so far, all I have is a knot. A big knot.

I also painted my nails a pretty pink ( some Zoya colour) and it was almost nude and I looked down at my nails and they were chipped. Why?
I was in a big rush after I had done my nails so instead of applying a top coat, I used Revlon Crazy Shine instead. It's a buffer and a shiner(?) and it's super useful!

This was Saturday, I'll do Sunday tomorrow.

Things I Found Thursdays: Hair

Last week's post was on nails and if you haven't seen it yet, click here!

The Beauty Department: One Sided Braid

(via)

I've been a big fan of this site for a long time now and I really liked the look of this braid. It's basically like a French braid but on one side only.
Go to TBD to figure out how to do it!

HairandMake-up by Steph: Flat Iron Curls

(via)
These curls are so beachy and wonderful! I have a flat iron and I'm just dying to try it out!

I really love this idea because it looks really interesting and different. These would be really fun in a fishtail braid!

I love this idea! You twist your hair and place it and when it dries and you unroll it, it is curly!

adventures with food!

I admit, I am a pretty gross person when it comes to food. I'm the person that will try and mix 2 different foods together to make one bigger better piece! I've tried pickles with peanut butter. (EWWW!) That didn't work out. But today, I tried melted marshmallow in icecream. A tutorial for this will be up soon so keep your eyes open!

How I Live My Life: Beauty Haul!

K, first things first. I'm sorry that I haven't been posting as often as I should have. I have no energy or inspiration sometimes and I find it really hard to just get up and write. Sometimes I write 3-4 posts in a day and then I don't write for a week. I feel bad but I can't just get up and have inspiration. I feel like nobody really reads this and maybe I should just stop and not write anymore. Please comment if you find this untrue or if you like the blog and you want me to continue. Anyways, onto the beauty haul.

Note: I took these pictures with my cell phone so they might not be as high quality as you are used to seeing but my camera has to emptied out or I have to go buy a new SD card. Sorry!

TRESemme: Tres Two Extra Hold

I originally bought this as a travel size hairspray that I would use once but this stuff is good. I think the hold is nice and it's not too smelly or anything. It also doesn't make you hair feel crunchy. The only set back is that it gets really tight and dry and you can literally peel the dried hairspray pieces off if you run your fingers through your hair too many times.

Bath And Body Works: Paris Amour Body Mist

This is honestly the first thing I have bought from Bath And Body Works. I thought that their scent was really strong so I would never go in but on this one occasion I did and now I'm hooked.  Paris Amour is feminine  but not too formal. I try and spray it into my hair so it's not too strong and too overpowering.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

The Body Shop: Born Lippy Watermelon

The flavour on this is really sweet and watermelony and it moisturises really well. The things that I really love about it is that the flavour is sweet but at the same time it's not like bubble gum mixed with sugar sweet, it's just watermelon sweet.

Things I Found Thursdays: Nails

I'm sorry guys! I'm not updating as often as I should but I have a major science test coming up and I really need to study for it. This week's 'Things I Found Thursdays' theme is nails. I personally love doing my nails because it's fun and you can change it as much as you want.

The Nailasaurus: Hunger Games Nails

(via)
I love The Hunger Games and I had really wanted to find cute nail designs to do. I think her pin is done amazingly and I honestly think this is the best nail tutorial for The Hunger Games that I've ever seen.
Click here to go to her site.

Nail Side: Explosion Design.

(via)
I've loved Nailside's designs for a pretty long time and I actually recently just did this on my nails. Nailside is a really cool site with a lot of clear tutorials and I always understand what she means when she writes her tutorials.
Click over here to learn how to get an 'explosion' on your nails.

Pshiiit: The Triangle On Your Fingers

via

Because I'm growing up in Canada, I am required to learn French here so I kinda understand what Pshiiit is talking about but I'm still a little bit fuzzy. You can always translate the page if you are confused but the pictures show the whole tutorial so I don't think it will be to hard to understand. Besides the language, her pictures are very self explanatory and easy to follow.
Click here to get 'Le Triangle Sur Les Ongles."

The Hybrid Chick: The Digi Nails

(via)
I did this with newspaper before and it also works really well. This is a really creative tutorial. I mean like, I've never seen anybody think it up like this before.

my one year anniversary

What anniversary? The blog anniversary. It was exactly one year ago since I had this crazy idea to start blogging. And so I did.

This day of last year is when I wrote my first post : It Might Rain, It Might Not. To be honest, it sucked. The post sucked. I'm not afraid to admit it. But then I got better. I'm going to count down my favourite posts since then to see how far I really have come.

I remember writing this one because I really wanted to make a list of something and I chose this!

This was my first tutorial. Making these little gift toppers, I felt pride. I felt happy because I was getting somewhere instead of just writing some random crap.

This one was probably the most interesting because I had to think long and hard about weird things about myself so I learned a lot.

The first Things I Found Thursdays was thought out really good. I wanted to have something planted in place that I would get to write each week and so I found it!

(via)
For this post, I think it got about 87 views so I was immensely happy about it because in my world, that's a ton of views. In your blogger world where people comment on everything you write, that's nothing.

This was my favourite tutorial to write and do because I loved it. I have no idea why but this is my favourite, best post in my mind.

Thanks to all of you that have been sticking with me for so long because I know my blog is not anywhere near successful  and I know that some of my posts are not that interesting or you might not like them that much but to me, you guys are everything!

The Rant Challenge: Gross People Habits (Part 2)

I was going through the comments and I noticed one from a girl named Bhavani. It was on the post Gross People Habits and that got me thinking about other gross things people do. That got me all fired up and if you read The Rant Challenge, you would know I get pretty fired up about things but this is my take on the gross things. ( Go check out Bhavani's blog, it's pretty cool and she writes about really interesting topics.)

Gross People Habits (Part 2)

Situation: Somebody sticks their pinky finger into their ear and they wipe it on their pants.
I see this a lot when I go out and the people usually try and pretend it's nothing. It's gross and I'm pretty sure it's not very clean.
Solution: Don't do anything. Don't go near them, don't talk to them, don't do anything.

Situation: You see somebody picking a wedgie out of their butt.
I understand, completely how uncomfortable a wedgie is. I get it. What I don't get is why people feel like they need to adjust in front of people. Go into the bathroom and do it. I don't care.
Solution:  There is no solution. I'm not going to tell you to pick up their hand and take it out of their butt. There's no solution.

Situation: People sticking their fingers in their mouth and picking food out.
I have no idea why but every time I go to a certain restaurant, I will see plenty of this happening. There is a such thing as a toothpick so why not use it?
Solution:If they are with you or sitting at the same table as you, offer them a toothpick. This is a polite way to tell them they are grossing you out and at the same time, you're offering them a toothpick. :)

Situation: Some slezey guy grabs his women in the 'ahem' areas.
K, first thing I have to say: Get a room!
Solution: Don't do it to YOUR girl.

I'm making a theme for Thins I Found Thursdays.
Next week's will be: Nails.

happy, happy day.

So, because it's March Break and I'm in a good mood, I wanted to share some beautiful, inspirational pictures from tumblr.

(via)
If you've ever really thought about it, you have plenty to be grateful and happy for. Things like those mentioned in the above picture.

(via)

Have I ever mentioned, I've always wanted to go to California. I've always wanted to go to a beach there because Ontario's beaches aren't as nice.

(VIA)

Now, being in a really good mood makes me sing songs and jump around in the grass. Hav you ever heard of Taylor Swift's ''Ours''?  It's really inspirational and every time I watch the music video, I get so happy.
I have to get working on the Things I Fund Thursdays now so stay happy and remind yourself that you are a beautiful creation. :)

How To Make A Floral Foam Pendant

Pin It The other day, I was searching through all my stuff and cleaning it out when I cam across these little foam circles. I guess I used them when I was really little as counters and stuff.

You will need:
-foam circles (can be found in the dollar store.)
- scrapbook paper/ magazines
-necklace chain
-glue
-scissors

1. Find a pretty pattern from scrapbook paper, a magazine or anything!

2.Take your foam disk and trace around the inside hole of the disk.

3. Cut out the circle and the inside hole.

4. Check to make sure everything matches up before glueing.

5. Once it is glued down securely, you want to cut around the circle again to get rid of the extra pieces.

Tada!

You should try experimenting with different pieces of paper and maybe some paint.

6. Slip onto necklace chain and wear!

The Rant Challenge: Brands That Have Their Logo On Everything

K, I'm really sorry guys for not posting as often as I should be but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas.

Brands That Have Their Logo Over Everything

I'm just going to come right out and say it. I'm sorry Aeropostale but I strongly dislike your store. I'm going to explain.

Everytime I go into your store, I see Aeropostale, Aeropostale on every single piece of clothing except for your plain tees. It has good quality but I don't think I should be buying a shirt that says Aeropostale on it for like $15.

(via thecouponess)

I'll be the first to admit that yes, you have good quality and yes, it is a good price but seriously? You are paying to be a billboard. Really. People are just advertising Aeropostale everytime they wear their shirts.

I have never brought a shirt form Aeropostale because of this. I've never bought anything from there. I can buy a freaking white t-shirt and write a brand name on it and say :' Yeah, I totally wear brand name clothing.'

I totally understand that it's about marketing and labeling or whatever but you can have like a little symbol in the corner of the shirt instead of like AEROPOSTALE on the clothing. It really turns me off and I feel that a lot of people understand what I mean too. Like, please take what I'm saying into consideration.

Just remember : you are being branded.

Canvas Crayon Art

K, so I've seen these all over Youtube and Tumblr and Pinterest so I really wanted to try to make one for myself.

Blow-dryer- I used a hot pink Conair blow-dryer.
Crayons- Crayola crayons.
Canvas: I got the canvas from Dollarama (if you are Canadian). $1 for 2 canvas!
Glue gun: Just a regular glue gun.

I originally found a box of crayons that I used when I was a kid so I knew I wanted to do something with it. I think that adding used crayons makes it a lot more special.
1. Arrange your crayons in whatever order looks good to you.

I added a couple more different types of crayons because I didn't have enough plain crayons to fill the canvas with.

*this is a colour caption!

2. Now you want to glue the crayon down onto your canvas. I tried to get the colour caption facing up. I had a couple of crayons that I had used and the colour caption was gone so I just rolled it over to the Crayola logo. Look above this picture and you"ll see what I mean by a colour caption.

K, for crayons like this that have no wrapper, you can either glue the spot where the crayon will go on the canvas and press the crayon down or you can glue directly onto the crayon.

Now, if you choose to glue down onto the crayon first, you will get a big glob on your gluegun. I recommend you making a line onto your canvas first.

3. After you finish glueing the crayons on and the glue has tried, tip your canvas up to see if any crayons are loose. If none are loose, get on the gluegun strings off before heading to the next step.

4. Take your blow dryer and adjust the settings until you see the crayons start to get wet.

The wax will start getting shiny and then the wax will drip. When the wax drips, you want to tilt your canvas so it is standing upright and the wax can flow down. I recommend putting a piece of newspaper underneath because it will splash.

You have to move your blow dryer to distribute the heat onto different crayons.

This is generally what it looks like when it's done. Pretty, huh?

Have fun!

an interesting experiment

Sorry, I haven't been updating because,I haven't had time and I feel bad. Anyways, I had been doing a little experiment last night and I thought you guys might be interested.

I used these materials in case you guys wanted to see.

Then I drew out some block letters to experiment with...
